I spent my morning watching standup comedy shows (when you run 3 comedy companies, you can absolutely do that) and one thing hit me: old material is better than new. Why? Because it’s well rehearsed.
When I was teaching Zumba back in the days, some wise person said to me: “when you are so tired of a song so you don’t want to hear it ever again – that’s when the choreo really works for the audience!”
You can constantly go for new things, or you can really master something that will do you good for years. The combination of the two is probably the right solution – but don’t throw away something because you just learned how to do it. That’s where the fun begins!
