And that is OK. If you are an employee, then you need to get along with your colleagues. But if you are a freelancer, you are FREE to work with whomever you want – and say no to the rest. Yes, I get it, it’s easier said than done if you are new in your field, but trust me when I tell you: wrong people suck the energy out of you and make you perform worse. Paid customer or not.
Some people say that they can’t afford to hire even the wrong clients. I say that they can’t afford to keep them.
Oh, and by the way, as a human – you are not obliged to socialize with anyone that you don’t like. The first “no thank you” is the hardest. It gets easier the more you practice.
